Federal Agents Just Arrested Ten Foreign Nationals In A Key Swing State — Their Alleged Voting Records Span Decades

The arrests, which involve both lawful permanent residents and at least one illegal alien, underscore mounting concerns on the right about the integrity of the nation’s electoral system, according to Breitbart. Federal officials say the cases reveal not isolated mistakes but a pattern of deliberate deception by noncitizens who allegedly claimed to be Americans in order to vote in federal contests.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that nine green card holders and one illegal alien were taken into custody on October 14 and 15 and charged with unlawfully participating in federal elections. “These aliens have been arrested and charged with illegally voting in multiple elections,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin declared in a statement announcing the enforcement action.

“They knowingly violated our laws. Now, thanks to the devoted patriots of HSI and our partners at the Department of Justice, these aliens will have to answer for violating the sacred right of Americans to elect their own leadership.” Mullin’s language reflects a growing insistence among conservatives that election security must be treated as a core national priority, not an afterthought to be dismissed as partisan rhetoric.

The most recent case involves Edduard Omar Majano-Sosa, an illegal alien from El Salvador, who is charged with false claim to citizenship for illegally registering to vote in 2024 and voting by an alien. Authorities say he illegally voted in the 2024 general election after having illegally entered the United States in July 2022 near El Paso, Texas, where he was subsequently “RELEASED into the country by the Biden Administration.”

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents arrested Majano-Sosa on October 15, 2026, and prosecutors have added a firearms charge after a pistol was allegedly discovered in his vehicle at the time of his arrest. His case is likely to intensify criticism of the Biden administration’s catch-and-release policies, which conservatives argue have not only fueled the border crisis but also opened the door to downstream abuses such as illegal voting.

Another defendant, Karl Paul Fout, a German national, is charged with false claim to citizenship for illegally registering to vote in 2008 and voting by an alien. Prosecutors allege he illegally voted in SEVEN general elections from 2008 to 2024, suggesting a long-running pattern of unlawful participation in American democracy.

Fout’s criminal history reportedly includes prior convictions for TWO counts of possession of marijuana and cocaine with intent to sell and deliver and possession of cocaine, further highlighting the public-safety dimension of lax enforcement. He was arrested by HSI Cary on October 15, 2026, having originally been lawfully admitted to the United States in February 1960, a reminder that even long-term residents are not entitled to the rights of citizenship unless they complete the naturalization process.

Lawton Caswell Broomfield E McKenzie, a Jamaican national, faces charges of false claim to citizenship for registering to vote in 2007 and 2012 and voting by an alien. Officials say he illegally voted in THREE general elections between 2012 and 2024, again spanning multiple cycles and administrations.

McKenzie’s criminal record includes convictions for manufacturing, possession, or distribution of controlled substances and arrests for disorderly conduct while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, battery, disturbing the peace, trespassing, communicating threats, assault, and driving while impaired. He was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on October 15, 2026, after having been lawfully admitted to the United States in November 1986, illustrating how noncitizen offenders can remain embedded in American communities for decades.

In another case, federal agents arrested Haitian national Lionel Paul, who is charged with false claim to citizenship for registering to vote in 2024 and voting by an alien. Authorities allege he illegally voted in the 2024 general election, despite lacking the legal right to participate in the nation’s political process.

Paul’s criminal history includes arrests for fleeing or eluding arrest with a motor vehicle and assault, adding to the list of noncitizen offenders whose conduct extends beyond immigration violations. He was arrested by HSI Cary on October 15, 2026, and records show he became a lawful permanent resident (LPR) in October 2018, underscoring that green card status does not confer the franchise.

German national James Edward Herrmann is charged with false claim to citizenship for registering to vote in 2018 and voting by an alien. Prosecutors say he illegally voted in TWO general elections between 2018 and 2024, again demonstrating that noncitizen voting can persist over several cycles before being detected.

Herrmann’s criminal history includes a conviction for larceny, adding yet another example of a noncitizen with a record of criminal behavior who nonetheless managed to access the voter rolls. He was arrested by the FBI on October 14, 2026, having been lawfully admitted to the United States in December 1983.

Also charged is German national Ramona Abreu-Exia, accused of false claim to citizenship for illegally registering to vote in 2004 and voting by an alien. Authorities allege she illegally voted in EIGHT general elections from 2004 to 2024, as well as in the 2008 primary election, making her one of the most prolific alleged noncitizen voters in the group.

She was arrested by the FBI on October 14, 2026, after having been lawfully admitted to the United States in October 1977, which again raises questions about how many long-term residents may have quietly slipped onto the voter rolls. Her case will likely fuel calls for more rigorous verification of citizenship status at the point of registration.

Jamaican national Mervin Sylvester Bogle is charged with falsely claiming citizenship to vote after allegedly registering to vote in 2024 and illegally voting in THREE general elections between 2008 and 2024. He was arrested by the FBI on October 15, 2026, and had been lawfully admitted to the United States in February 1981, another decades-long resident now accused of abusing the system.

Canadian national Robert Harold Corbett faces charges of false claim to citizenship for registering to vote in 1998 and voting by an alien, with prosecutors alleging he illegally voted in SIX general elections between 1998 and 2024. Corbett was arrested by the FBI on October 14, 2026, and was lawfully admitted to the United States in December 1963, suggesting that even some of the longest-standing foreign residents have taken advantage of lax safeguards.

Panamanian national Ludgardys Olena Matthews is charged with false claim to citizenship for registering to vote in 2009 and voting by an alien. Authorities say she illegally voted in THREE general elections between 2018 and 2024, as well as in the 2020 primary election, again spanning both presidential and primary contests.

She was arrested by HSI Cary on October 15, 2026, after having been lawfully admitted to the United States in October 1986 and later granted LPR status in September 2015 under the Obama Administration, a detail conservatives will likely cite as part of a broader critique of prior Democratic immigration policies. Montenegrin national Gjina Gojcaj McDonald faces charges of false claim to citizenship for illegally registering to vote in 2008 and voting by an alien, with officials alleging she illegally voted in SEVEN general elections from 2008 to 2024, as well as in the 2012 primary election and the 2019 special election.

She was arrested by the FBI on October 14, 2026, and was lawfully admitted to the United States in February 1969, again highlighting how long-term residents can quietly exploit weaknesses in voter registration systems. Acting ICE Director David Venturella emphasized that the enforcement actions are intended to send a clear deterrent signal to noncitizens who might be tempted to interfere in American elections.

“Election laws are not optional, and those who violate them will be held accountable,” Venturella stated, echoing a central conservative argument that the rule of law must be applied consistently, regardless of immigration status. The arrests form part of a broader Trump administration initiative to identify and prosecute noncitizen voting, an effort that stands in stark contrast to the dismissive attitude many on the left have taken toward concerns about voter fraud.

Federal officials note that the North Carolina arrests are not isolated, pointing to similar cases in other states as part of a nationwide crackdown. Last week, for example, ICE agents arrested foreign national Mukeshkumar Somabhai Chaudhari in Minnesota after he was charged with knowingly making a false claim of American citizenship to vote in the 2024 election, further illustrating that the problem extends beyond a single jurisdiction.

Secretary Mullin framed the enforcement push as a direct warning to any noncitizen contemplating unlawful participation in U.S. elections. “Let this be a message to any non-citizens out there who are thinking about voting in our elections: If you illegally vote, we will arrest you, and you will be charged,” he said, adding, “Only American citizens should be electing American leaders.”

For conservatives, these cases validate long-standing warnings that even a relatively small number of illegal votes can erode public confidence in close races and undermine the principle of self-government. The fact that some of the defendants allegedly voted repeatedly over decades, often while carrying criminal records, raises serious questions about the adequacy of current safeguards and the wisdom of progressive efforts to weaken voter-ID laws and resist citizenship verification.

As the Trump administration moves to tighten enforcement, the central issue is no longer whether noncitizen voting occurs, but whether the political class is willing to take it seriously enough to protect what Mullin called “the sacred right of Americans to elect their own leadership.”
