Why Is Ilhan Omar Suddenly Bragging About 'Less Scrolling'? Agents Just Seized Her Phone And Passport In A Raid (Video)

Multiple federal investigations are reportedly probing immigration issues and financial disclosures, with government documents even referring to her “real name” as Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a detail that raises serious questions about her past representations and potential fraud. According to RedState, a federal filing indicates that as of Wednesday authorities had not yet fully executed a search warrant, suggesting that investigators still have additional steps to take and more evidence to pursue in connection with those immigration-related inquiries.

On Friday, Omar made her first public appearance since her home was raided on October 12, choosing the early-voting site as her stage and attempting to project business-as-usual confidence. Pressed by reporters about the investigation and whether this might be her “last chance to vote here,” she brushed off the gravity of the situation, insisting she would “continue to vote” and later claiming on X that her name was “always” Ilhan Omar, directly contradicting what federal authorities have put in writing.

The congresswoman’s public posture suggests a lawmaker trying to appear unbothered as the walls close in, even as the swirl of legal scrutiny and public skepticism intensifies around her. While she projects an air of invincibility, there is little indication that voters, or investigators, are persuaded by the performance.

Her latest attempt to look unfazed came in the form of a polished social media video, where she strolls along a lakeside path in Minnesota with her third husband, accompanied by carefully selected background music. “Less scrolling, more strolling,” Omar wrote, adding, “Enjoying our beautiful Minnesota lakes,” a caption clearly designed to convey serenity and normalcy at a moment when her political future is anything but secure.

The production quality of the video, complete with a camera crew, undercuts the idea of a quiet, spontaneous walk and instead resembles a campaign-style propaganda piece crafted to reset the narrative. The tone of the soundtrack clashes with the natural calm of the lakes, further highlighting the artificiality of the scene and the disconnect between the imagery and the seriousness of the allegations she faces.

Ironically, Omar’s boast about “less scrolling” may be truer than she intended, given that federal agents have reportedly seized her personal phone. Authorities also took her passport and additional devices, including what she described as her “travel phone,” prompting her attorneys to petition for the return of the confiscated property.

In a move that has become routine for embattled progressives seeking to avoid public accountability, Omar again restricted replies to her post. The lone visible response came from her fellow left-wing ally and former Squad member, Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri, who gushed, “We love this!” in a show of solidarity that may play well on the far left but does little to reassure skeptical moderates or independents.

The broader reaction, however, was far less sympathetic, with quote tweets overwhelmingly mocking the staged nature of the video and the timing of her lakeside leisure. Former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt captured the prevailing sentiment, writing, “She’s doing less scrolling because the FBI confiscated her phone LMAO,” followed by, “Totally not staged ?? The music ??????,” a blunt assessment that resonated with many critics.

Rather than lowering her profile while under federal scrutiny, Omar is doubling down on her activist brand by appearing at an event with radical Twitch streamer Hasan Piker on Monday. That decision threatens to deepen divisions within the Democratic Party and further tarnish its image at a critical electoral moment, even as President Trump’s second administration underscores a national appetite for law, order, and accountability that stands in stark contrast to the controversies swirling around one of the left’s most polarizing figures.
