U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Houston are now averaging roughly 100 arrests of illegal aliens every day, underscoring a renewed emphasis on immigration enforcement under President Donald Trump.

According to the Gateway Pundit, the official ICE account announced, “We are arresting about 100 illegal aliens a day in Houston, Texas. Past Administrations failed you, the American people. President Trump will not.” The post featured video from a NewsNation segment that embedded with ICE enforcement teams operating across the Houston metropolitan area.
NewsNation reported that the team they followed had already taken four of five targeted individuals into custody before 11 a.m., illustrating the pace and precision of the current operations. One of those arrests involved a man from El Salvador with three prior DWI arrests, the latest in 2024, and a final order of removal after he failed to appear in immigration court.

Agents conducted surveillance to map out his daily routine and intercepted him before he could get behind the wheel, a tactic ICE described as a safer method for both officers and the public. A second arrest, executed in coordination with a county constable, focused on a Mexican national with a 2013 charge of enticing a minor, a prior DWI, and multiple driving-without-a-license offenses, who also had a removal order after skipping court.
Bret Bradford, director of ICE’s Houston Enforcement and Removal Operations field office, told NewsNation that the agency is prioritizing the “worst of the worst” but will not confine enforcement solely to those with criminal histories. “If you’re in this country illegally, there’s a consequence,” Bradford said, adding that current political rhetoric has “emboldened these individuals to run, to flee, to evade arrest,” and urging those eligible for voluntary departure to accept the $3,000 cash incentive rather than wait to be taken into custody.

Houston’s ICE field office has posted substantial arrest totals in earlier operations, reflecting a broader push to remove criminal aliens and restore the rule of law. In a 10-day sweep last October, agents reported 1,505 arrests, including gang members, aggravated felons, a convicted murderer, and sexual predators, and ICE has shared additional footage of Houston-area operations, including a traffic initiative that netted more than 120 arrests in a single day.
“We made over 120 arrests in Houston Oct. 29 — clearing our roads of dangerous, often unlicensed and uninsured, illegal aliens who should NOT be behind the wheel,” the agency stated, highlighting the public-safety rationale behind these crackdowns. For many conservatives, these numbers validate President Trump’s enforcement-first approach and stand in stark contrast to the lax border and interior policies that “failed” Americans under prior administrations.
